Additional Book Reviews
"The Dreamtidings of a Disgruntled Starbeing instantly felt like
something beautifully out of orbit.
"This is that rare book that looks at earthly dysfunction through a cosmic lens. There's a quiet
brilliance in the way Linn use humor to navigate pain, and spirituality to illuminate dysfunction.
It's whimsical and piercing all at once.
"All in all, it's the kind of story that doesn't just entertain but
rearranges a reader's sense of perspective."

"The Dreamtidings of a Disgruntled Starbeing quietly stays with its readers,
offering recognition rather than resolution.
"Some novels meet trauma head on. Others approach it sideways, through imagination, humor,
and metaphysical possibility. The Dreamtidings of a Disgruntled Starbeing belongs to the second
category, and that is precisely what makes it so affecting.
"What struck me immediately was Klara's voice. The choice to frame a deeply unsettling family
environment through the perspective of a self described starbeing is both tender and radical. Rather
than denying the damage around her, the story allows imagination to function as refuge, resistance,
and meaning making. Klara's humor and observational clarity feel earned, never cute, especially
given the psychological weight of living with a psychopathic sibling
and an emotionally fragmented household.
"At its core, this is a novel about maintaining an inner truth when the external world repeatedly
undermines it. The starbeing metaphor becomes a way to name the resilience many children
develop in hostile environments, the sense that one must come from somewhere else
in order to survive where one is."

"Have waited to hear this story for 8 years.
"I met Linn at Yale University in June 2015, and she mentioned that she was writing a book.
It is great to finally have a copy in hand and read it. The book is a mixture of many styles and
takes you on a journey sort of.
"One of the most prominent things you will notice in the book is the wit with which she has
delivered deeply philosophical messages—characters and plots play out their parts with an
undercurrent of an understanding that there is something bigger in this universe than what we
are able to perceive through our senses.
"The chapters are short and crisp and make it an easy read not to forget the sense of humor
that she pokes here and there (everywhere) to keep the interest of the reader intact. Though the
book deals with some complex issues in our lives, it still maintains a balance of entertainment.
"You will notice very descriptive scenes and yet the story moves very fast—in the age of the internet
and skimming over content, this book would make a perfect companion during long travels on a
train or plane. The beauty of the story is that the reader is left wanting more of it—maybe,
there's a sequel in the future!"

"Dreamtidings of a Disgruntled Starbeing by Linn Aspen is a beautiful and spiritual
story that spans the Universe. It incorporates the basic truths of love and forgiveness into
the adventures of a young girl who unknowingly is a spirit from another world. How she reacts to
adversity within her earth family and learns to forgive makes an inspiring story for young and old alike."

"Linn offers wise nuggets of truth that are easily digested and assimilated without
one even realizing it. I am amazed at the way she has crafted a delightful novel that offers
such profound message of truth and hope, while still being a lighthearted and fun story.
It reads like a summer novel but unlike those quick, throw-away stories, the wisdom
she offers stay long after I finished the novel. I believe the insights she offers are
the truths that were within me all along but that I had forgotten."

"I loved reading Linn's novel. It was imaginative and unusual.
She has a great sense of
humor and 'observation' of the world."

"Every book is a food for your thoughts. While few are forgotten, some are remembered for a lifetime.
"My recent one, The Dreamtidings of a Disgruntled Starbeing, although a work of fiction, rung the bells
of my thoughts. A simple yet sophisticated tale of self-realization and introspection along with forgiveness.
"A touching tale that will take you on an emotional roller coaster is penned exceptionally well by the
author. I felt numb at times reading the experiences of the characters and their in-depth narration."

"This is a heart-wrenching story that takes readers on an emotional journey.
"The book is a powerful exploration of the devastating impact that mental illness can have on families
and the lengths that people will go to protect themselves and their loved ones.
"Aspen's writing is both raw and honest The book is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, as
Aspen demonstrates the strength and courage it takes to navigate such a challenging situation.
"One of the most impressive aspects of this book is Aspen's ability to draw readers in and keep them engaged.
Her writing is vivid and descriptive, and she paints a vivid picture of her world, both the good and the bad.
"Even in the darkest moments of the book, there is a sense of hope and possibility, as Aspen shares
a journey of healing and growth.
"I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in psychology or stories
of personal transformation."
